Area Manager - Germany

BIAMP Systems is looking for an Area Manager who is experienced in sales in a corporate environment. The Area Manager will act as a counselor both to new and existing contacts in the market. Calls focused on consultants, and potential end users, in both the AV and IT spaces will not be foreign to the right candidate. This individual will also possess the ability to develop and manage a new sales channel for recently launched platforms like our Vocia product line in close relationship with Biamp’s local distributor. Demonstrating great communications skills with their past superiors will be a must.

Responsibilities include:

  • Giving presentations of Biamp and the solutions on consultants and end- users.
  • Setting Biamp as the standard communication platform for commercial clients.
  • Frequently visiting Integrators together with the Distributor if required.
  • Discussing the local sales strategy with Biamp’s distributor and the responsible Regional Manager.
  • Training consultants and End Users on all aspects of Biamp’s equipment, its functions and its uses, with special emphasis on the Tesira, Audia and Nexia Digital Audio. Platforms as well as our Vocia Critical Paging System.
  • Giving non-technical feature based presentations on benefits, ROI and TCO of Biamp solutions.
  • Building our clients confidence to our networked based Vocia Critical Paging System.
  • Giving Biamp feedback, both technical and commercial, from customers.
  • Manning trade show booths where appropriate.
  • Helping our marketing department with developing German language literature.
  • Being the “Voice of Biamp” in one of our longest settled distribution markets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in the professional conferencing/audio marketplace including contacts with key consultants and end users in the region.
  • Further knowledge in Video-, Networking- and Control- systems highly desired.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with Biamp’s clients.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to give both technical and sales presentations.
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office suite (including PowerPoint) as well as preferably audio DSP unit ‘drag and drop’ software and CAD programs.
  • Good basic technical audio knowledge.
  • Some computer networking experience (preferably including audio networking).

    The position requires extensive travel within Germany. Occasional travel to US or non-German trade shows will be required. The Area Manager reports to the Regional Manager Central Europe.

    The position is offered on a full time basis. Compliance Engineer

Biamp Systems is seeking an intelligent and highly-motivated compliance engineer with excellent communication skills, to ensure our products meet applicable worldwide safety, EMC, telephony, and environmental certifications. The focus of this position is to ensure that we are aware of all the necessary compliance issues with regards to products we manufacture and respond to compliance needs in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with design engineering to ensure new products meet applicable worldwide safety, EMC, telephony, and environmental certifications
  • Work with product management to clearly communicate changes to regulatory requirement that might affect ongoing and new business so timely decisions can be made
  • Apply for and coordinate regulatory certifications for all new products
  • Ensure existing products continue to meet applicable worldwide safety, EMC, telephony, and environmental certifications
  • Organize and attend factory inspections performed by certifying agencies
  • Organize and control documentation related to regulatory certifications
  • Constantly research the regulatory environment and facilitate discussions regarding changes in regulatory requirements
  • Work with electrical test equipment such as volt meter, signal generator, oscilloscope, audio analyzer, etc.
  • Assist in performance of EMC and Safety testing at test facilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with multiple global and country-specific certification bodies – e.g. UL, TUV, CSA, KETI, and CQC
  • Familiarity with UL/IEC60065 and/or UL/IEC60950
  • Familiarity with various CE directives such as EMC, LVD, and R&TTE
  • Technical background in Electronics with an understanding of how to verify safety compliance
  • Previous experience building technical construction files
  • Understanding of the RoHS directive and other current and forthcoming state, national and international environmental regulations

Contracts Attorney

Biamp Systems is seeking a Contracts Attorney to assist with preparation and review of legal documents and ensure organizational compliance with state/federal regulatory requirements at multiple levels of the organization.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate standard and complex non-disclosure agreements, professional service agreements, license agreements, and all other documents related to the organization’s contracting process
  • Ensure organizational consistency in all contracting documents and compliance with organizational policies and requirements, and with all applicable legal and state/federal regulatory requirements
  • Serve as contract negotiator and expert contracts resource for organization. Research complex issues in the industry as requested and provide recommendations for resolution. Provide input to IP issues, Patent and Trademark
  • Advise management team on ad hoc legal issues, and project teams on technical legal solutions to support initiatives as requested. Smoothly facilitate information exchange that leads to resolution and/or implementation of specific issues
  • Provide measured legal advice while taking into account business needs

Secondary Functions Include:

  • Manage outside legal counsel
  • Provide organizational training on contracts and legal topics as needed
  • Ability to work independently and consultatively at all levels of the organization

Education and/or Experience; Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills at multiple levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to organize multiple complex tasks, ability to prioritize competing issues using limited resources to accomplish results within established timeframes
  • Law Degree required, must be an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in organizational business environment, or law firm working on contracts
  • An equivalent combination of educations, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties

Desktop Support Specialist

We are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide users with desktop, laptop, printer, telephone, and software technical support and assistance. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving user technical issues, providing helpdesk functions, and backing up some duties of other IT personnel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve user difficulties with desktops, laptops, printers, telephone, iPhone/PDA, cell phones, and other hardware or software solutions in a Microsoft environment
  • Provide first-level desktop support for employees (includes all hardware/software needs), responding to requests and problems submitted through a help desk ticketing system. Timely update and close of tickets
  • Assist users with software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection anti-virus, Cisco VPN, and other applications.
  • Build and deploy desktops and laptops according to documented standards and procedures
  • Set up new users in Active Directory environment with Microsoft Exchange email
  • Provide positive customer experience with each customer interaction
  • Work on technical projects as assigned
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 year college degree, technical certification, and three years’ experience providing technical support; or satisfactory equivalent work experience in computer support, systems administration, or related field

Production Supervisor - Swing Shift

The Production Supervisor will plan, systematize, and manage the work of production personnel assigned to swing shift, monitoring the quality of the products, the productivity of the processes exercised, and the output of the group.

Essential Functions:

  • Schedule and organize the work flow of production personnel
  • Monitor product quality and process productivity, implementing methods of improvement
  • Provide general guidance and problem solving to all areas
  • Handle all management level responsibilities for assigned staff, including performance reviews, employee development, hiring, firing, and coaching
  • Maintain the process and documentation for training and cross-training of personnel
  • Must be available to work swing shift

Secondary Functions:

  • Liaise with fellow Production Supervisors to ensure required production coordination.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Engineers regarding process problems and methods of improvement
  • Liaise with Planning Department on capacity constraints and product availability
  • Liaise with Maintenance Department on equipment availability
  • Additional duties assigned by Production Manager as workload of essential functions allows

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing industry (Electronic/PCBA Assembly preferred)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals
  • Knowledge of Windows based applications and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve

Sheet Metal Machine Operator - Swing Shift

Biamp Systems is looking for a Sheet Metal Machine Operator to operate the press brake, punch press, and other metal forming machines for the creation of BIAMP products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow written job specifications to determine machine calibration, materials required, and proper machine setup
  • Operate Punch Press, Press Brake, and/or Hardware insertion machine
  • Follow established safety guidelines in the operation machines and usage of protective gear
  • Inspect completed parts to ensure compliance with Biamp quality and dimensional standards
  • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed
  • Stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces
  • Recycle and dispose of scrap materials
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Perform routine maintenance of machine
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Previous experience operating production machinery desired. Previous experience with sheet metal equipment a plus
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to work swing shift

SMT Set-Up Operator - Swing Shift

SMT Set up Operator will be responsible for picking parts, set up and tear down feeders, cycle count, put parts away, bake boards, label boards and assist SMT lines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bake and label boards
  • Pull parts and set up feeders for production build
  • Tear down feeders and put parts away
  • Stock incoming parts while maintaining First In First Out (FIFO) process
  • Sequence product for production according to a build schedule
  • Monitor production lines for parts needed
  • Assist production lines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in work areas
  • Conduct cycle counts
  • Organize and clean SMT set up area

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and FIFO
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Technical Projects Manager - Middle East

The Technical Projects Manager, Middle East, will assist Biamp customers with technical matters globally, but will prioritize the needs of customers or projects located in the Middle East. The Technical Projects Manager will be expected to take leadership in becoming the point of technical reference for all matters that concern Biamp equipment and its interface with third-party products for projects in the Middle Eastern region, from their inception to completion. In addition, he/she will be available on the phone or e-mail to help resolve product or design problems, provide technical guidance, training and creating technical documentation.

The position will require daily interaction with Biamp customers, consultants, and sales representatives dealing with a variety of complex technical issues. The Technical Projects Manager, Middle East, position will involve travel to customer locations throughout the Middle East for design, training, commissioning, and troubleshooting assistance. Travel to Biamp’s factory in Beaverton, Oregon, will also be required. The candidate should live or be willing to relocate to Dubai, the UK or Germany, and be able to work from home with minimal supervision. If based in the UK or Germany, frequent travel to the Middle East will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot product and design difficulties over the phone, in person and via email
  • Be the point of contact for all technical queries for regional customers
  • Assist with the design of complex systems
  • Conduct customer training
  • Provide input and guidance for the creation of technical documentation
  • Conduct beta testing of new products
  • Onsite visits to troubleshoot and assist Biamp customers
  • Assist with product set-up and staging at tradeshows

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience providing audio technical support, audio design and/or audio equipment set-up
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in Arabic
  • Good technical presentation and training skills
  • A serious and enthusiastic desire to provide reliable customer service and technical expertise
  • Experience with computer, audio, and AV networking
  • Advanced knowledge of audio DSP technology
  • Good computer and networking skills including working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Able to travel within Middle Eastern region, Europe and USA
