Nearly 508 meters into the sky, visitors to the Taipei 101 Tower are amazed by the view and the height at which they are able to see the world. Further heightening this experience is a world-class audio system powered by the Biamp Nexia™ PM Digital Signal Processor. The Nexia PM, specifically designed for multi-media presentation applications, can support the use of an independent microphone as well as automated content. Its processing power is well suited for guided tours within the observation deck as well as the informational, automated content that greets visitors on a daily basis.

The audio system in the viewing deck was installed in part by the Taipei-based company Quartech. The observation deck audio system incorporates a number of state-of-the-art components, providing visitors with an unparalleled audio and visual experience. Automated programs are played regularly during the day providing sightseers with information on the city that surrounds the massive structure. In addition, guided tours of the Taipei 101 Tower and adjoining mall culminate on the observation deck. Tour guides are able to make use of the impressive sound system to ensure that participants leave with an unforgettable image from atop the highest building in the world.
The Nexia PM maintains the signal processing and audio routing for all processes within the observation deck. The Nexia PM is a digital signal processor with four mic/line inputs, six stereo line inputs and six line outputs. Nexia PM includes a broad selection of audio components, routing options and signal processing. The Nexia system also features an Ethernet port for software configuration and control and a serial port for third-party RS-232 remote control.
