Biamp Systems Supports Taiwan Education Expansion with Two Nexia Systems in Chien Kung High School

Highlighting its ability to provide the highest levels of digital audio technology economically in education markets the world over, Biamp Systems announced that two Nexia systems have been installed in Taiwan's Chien Kung High School. The multipurpose room hosts everything from packed-house badminton matches to theater productions.

"The Taiwan education market is mirroring the U.S market as schools search for high tech solutions to accommodate multi-use facilities," said Graeme Harrison, VP of International Sales, Biamp Systems. "Biamp Systems' products like the Nexia PM and Nexia CS are ideal, cost-effective solutions that allow these schools to upgrade their digital technology while staying within restrictive budgets."

Chien Kung High School is a brand new facility with excellent acoustical design that can take on the feeling of an ultra-modern gymnasium when the wildly popular badminton contests are slated, or quickly change to a well-appointed theater setting to host dramatic theater productions.

The Nexia units perform the automatic mixing of microphones during meetings and conferences or the mixing of mics during a theater production and all loudspeaker processing. To process the stereo audio from the multiple AV sources, administrators chose the Nexia PM.

Nexia PM has four mic/line inputs and six stereo program line inputs with three stereo outs, which are configurable as 6 mono outs. The handy Ethernet port allows for easy software configuration and control, while a serial port for third party RS-232 remote control is also standard. The system comes with NexLink ports for multi-unit system designs and is therefore easily scalable to any application. Nexia software is compatible with Windows 2000 or XP. The system is set up with pre-configured I/O with definable processing and mix, route, combine, EQ, and delay functions.

At the Chien Kung High School facility the second Nexia, a CS, is used to process all the microphones on the stage. To the side of the stage are two VS8 remotes, which provide adjustment of eight selectable volumes, as well as enabling/disabling of 8 selectable Nexia actions.
