Product Manager

The Product Manager will develop, launch and support new and existing products throughout the entire product life cycle. You will be responsible for evaluating the market opportunity for products, leading product development and planning the go-to market strategy. You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, and can communicate effectively with others (including end-user customers,) in both contexts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with internal and external resources to identify new market opportunities and gaps in product functionality as well as to assign priority to key new product ideas.
  • Drive product definitions/requirements, which translate and balance business needs, customer needs and technological capabilities into features and enhancements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, serving as product manager to define product specifications, establish milestones, and manage the development, implementation and marketing launch against goals.
  • Communicate product status, key issues and launch plans to key constituents across the BIAMP organization including senior management, engineering, sales, operations, marketing, technical and customer support teams.
  • Analyze business opportunities for best use of resources and return on investment and present recommendation with justification.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and measure product performance to identify key levers of improvement.
  • Work with marketing communications and sales to define and manage product launch including: positioning and market segmentation, messaging, pricing, required marketing communications/promotion, sales strategy, customer training and support.
  • Interface with marketing communications and sales to guide the creation of manuals, product literature, white papers, technical presentations, and sales tools.
  • Manage existing products on an ongoing basis, including product line extensions and enhancements, prioritization, forecasting, and related activities.
  • This position requires travel (average ~25%).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 yrs experience as a Product Manager in B2B market with software and/or electronic product emphasis.
  • Experience with manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, yet implement at the tactical level.
  • Strong analytical problem solving, organizational, and project management skills absolutely required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be comfortable in front of customers, sales teams, and executives.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative manner to coordinate efforts from multiple functional areas or entities to achieve a specific goal.
  • Specific experience in successfully developing and managing new product launches including a proven ability to champion products and drive to key decisions.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline required, MBA preferred.

Applications Engineer - Brisbane, Australia

The Applications Engineer will assist customers with technical questions as well as product and design problems in our Brisbane, Australia office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Product and design difficulties via phone and email
  • Conducting beta testing of new products
  • Providing input and guidance for the creation of operation manuals for new products
  • Assisting with product set-up and staging at tradeshows
  • Providing customer training

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 or more years experience providing audio technical support
  • Experience with computer networking and advanced audio DSP technology, audio design and audio equipment set-up
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office Suite.

IT Applications Developer

Develop, maintain, and assist end users with internally utilized software including off the shelf software as well as the in-house data collection systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and test new in-house software.
  • Redesign software’s current work processes within all areas.
  • Troubleshoot in-house software.
  • Liaise with a variety of department managers regarding creating and/or reengineering current systems for enhancement.
  • Maintain the MySQL and SQL databases.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years experience in windows programming, Visual Basic, and database design and administration.

QA Engineer

The QA Engineer is responsible for creating, implementing and automating testing for our products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Black box testing, automated testing and regression testing of our products.
  • Document issues and solutions in our knowledge base.
  • Create and maintain documentation for QA procedures.
  • Write scripts to automate the testing process.
  • Manage issues in our bug tracking system.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSCS, BSEE or equivalent technical training.
  • Minimum two years of relative experience.
  • Python or other scripting language programming knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of C++ and other programming languages a plus.

Regional Manager - Europe - East Region

Biamp Systems, a leading manufacturer of professional electronics for use in the installed audio market, based in Portland, Oregon, USA, is currently recruiting for a new Regional Manager for the Europe - East region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all elements of the business relationship between Biamp and its distributors and dealers.
  • Maintaining, refining and, when necessary, changing the currently set-up Biamp distribution network within the region.
  • Training both distributors and dealers on all aspects of Biamp’s equipment, its functions and its uses, with special emphasis on the Audia and Nexia Digital Audio Platforms.
  • Giving sales and technical presentations direct to key end-users in the region.
  • Giving Biamp feedback, both technical and commercial, from customers in the region.
  • Manning trade show booths both in USA and in the region, where appropriate.

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following skill-set:

  • Experience in the Eastern European professional audio marketplace including contacts with key distributors and dealers in the region.
  • Ability to operate effectively in the Eastern European market.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with Biamp’s dealers.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Spoken Russian is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be based in Eastern Europe. The position requires extensive travel (50% of work time) within the region as well as 4 trips to USA per year. The Regional Manager reports to VP, International Sales, at Biamp Systems, Portland, Oregon.

The position is offered on a self-employed basis, working 100% of the time for Biamp Systems with a guaranteed contract. Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will create and develop Windows® applications, which will configure and control our products. This position requires expert C# and C++ skills and a passion for developing and delivering high quality end-user software.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop new features for our existing software platforms.
  • Work in a team environment to develop new large scale fat client applications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience developing in the Windows environment.
  • Solid understanding of object oriented design/development.
  • Solid background in Discrete Mathematics with experience in solving Combinatorial and Graph Theory problems.
  • Solid Visual C#, C++, .NET Framework, STL, MFC, Active X and DLL development skills.
  • Ethernet technology development experience.

Manufacturing Engineer

The Electronics Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will provide direction and support in a medium mix / medium volume, OEM manufacturing environment. The position will be responsible for day-to-day support and development of PCB assembly processes, continuous improvement projects, and process and machine documentation. Qualified candidates will be organized, analytical thinkers with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process owner for soldering processes (including reflow and selective wave soldering), thru-hole and hand-add operations, and repair.
  • Monitor quality and process metrics and respond to quality issues and out-of-control events including corrective action and subsequent continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and PCB design to verify design for manufacturing (DFM) guidelines and to provide new technologies and capabilities to meet new product demands.
  • Provide process and machine documentation to ensure safe, reliable and repeatable processes.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to provide timely and cost-effective solutions to issues affecting manufacturing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year degree, preferably a 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, hands-on PCB assembly experience with demonstrated knowledge of SMT placement and soldering, thru-hole soldering (selective soldering preferred), hand assembly, and repair (including BGA).
  • Experience with lead-free and RoHS compliant materials and processes with knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Experience applying statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) to monitor and improve manufacturing processes with practical knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Commitment to establishing world class manufacturing processes with knowledge and understanding of IPC and JEDEC standards for electronics assembly, soldering, storage, and packaging.
  • Travel may be required for training and professional development.

The position requires about 50% travel within a region with as many as 4 trips to BIAMP’s facility in Beaverton, OR.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all elements of the business relationship between Biamp and its integrators.
  • Maintaining, refining and, when necessary, changing the currently set-up Biamp distribution network.
  • Training integrators and consultants on all aspects of Biamp’s equipment, its functions and its uses, with special emphasis on the Audia and Nexia Digital Audio Platforms.
  • Giving sales and technical presentations direct to key end-users.
  • Managing Independent Representatives in the Region.
  • Giving Biamp feedback, both technical and commercial, from customers.
  • Manning trade show booths where appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • You must have an extensive commercial AUDIO background.
  • Experience working with audio DSP especially system design using software.
