System Integrator AVL Internacional of Costa Rica is currently mid-stream on an ambitious project to supply the country's newly expanded international airport with an advanced, scalable AV system for background music and paging applications. In doing so, Nils Pinagel of AVL Internacional, elected to build the system on a Biamp digital audio network with multiple CobraNet® enabled AudiaFLEX® and Networked Paging Stations, to deliver reliable, consistently high-quality performance coupled with future-proof modularity.
The Costa Rica airport is adding five terminals over the next five years. In the first two terminals that have been completed, Biamp's Paging System has been installed to control and automate the audio, announcements and background music and to provide a foundation for system expansion. The boarding gates currently have microphones connected to the AudiaFLEX with an ambient noise processor, leveling each area separately. With AudiaFLEX in place in all of the terminals, Biamp's Networked Paging Station-1 will provide an intuitive and robust front-end for end-users.

Audia® software includes two programming blocks that make networked paging stations easy to install and synch. One block allows for creation and storage of page zone groups with flexible chimes and levels of priority, while another block allows integrators to define the number of page zone groups each station can access.
The Networked Paging Station-1 features an LCD display and scroll wheel interface, which enables users to quickly switch between pre-assigned paging groups and zones.
