Change North Adelaide
Change North Adelaide is a premium fitness and wellness destination that takes every detail seriously — including its audio. From high-intensity functional training to tranquil Pilates and spa experiences, the venue demanded an audio solution that could perform across vastly different acoustic environments while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
Adelaide-based integrator Leedall was engaged to design and deliver a complete audio system built almost entirely on Biamp technology.
Solution
The ground-floor functional training area is the most demanding space, with loud music and instructors who need to be clearly heard over energetic classes. Leedall specified Biamp Desono DP8 eight-inch pendant loudspeakers, suspended in a uniform grid and powered by a Biamp Voltera D1200.4M amplified controller as a single 100V line zone.
Upstairs, the audio shifts to a more subtle, background role across the cardio zone, reformer Pilates studio, recovery lounge, and changerooms. Slimline Biamp Desono pendant loudspeakers (primarily DP6 models, with selected DP8 units for extra output) provide smooth, even coverage. A second Voltera DM amplifier drives four independent zones.
Leedall Associate Designer, Tim Biedman, was particularly impressed with the Voltera DM Series: “We commissioned the entire system offline back at the office using the correct Biamp speaker profiles and presets. When we arrived on site we literally plugged it in and it worked. No on-site tuning required. The Voltera amplified controllers handle all the voicing, compression, and limiting, so there’s no risk of trainers blowing drivers however carried away they get.”
In the humidity-heavy spa area, Leedall installed marine-grade Desono DX in-ceiling loudspeakers. The exclusive “spa within a spa” space is individually zoned for a fully personalized audio experience.
Biamp TEC-X 1000 wall controllers are positioned throughout the facility, offering trainers a simple interface to connect devices, adjust music and microphone levels, and benefit from automatic music ducking. In the reformer Pilates studio, Biamp Parlé TCM-XEX beam-tracking microphone arrays provide hands-free coverage.
Gym staff confidently use the system almost immediately, requiring virtually no training.

Conclusion
Leedall Project Manager Nico van Vieringen believes choosing a single Biamp solution was the right decision:
