At the heart of Eau Claire’s historic downtown area, and paralleling the nearby Chippewa River, Barstow Street is home to retail stores, restaurants, a theater, churches and a Children’s Museum. The revitalization project included a new sound system with Community’s Distributed Design Series Loudspeakers.
The new system consists of DS8 loudspeakers to cover the street area and DS5 loudspeakers for the sidewalks. The DS8s and DS5s are weather-resistant, they complement the street’s new appearance and were cost-effective for the city’s budget. And, by carefully aiming the loudspeakers at the street and sidewalk areas and away from the building faces, sound levels were minimized in the upper floors of the buildings.
