Course Details
The goal of our VoIP training is to provide Biamp integrators with the necessary tools to design, integrate, and troubleshoot Biamp products with VoIP telephony systems. Upon completion of Biamp VoIP certification, attendees will have a better understanding of the following:

  • VoIP systems on modern Ethernet networks, including network design and setups as well as the physical components used in VoIP systems
  • Use of Call Setup protocols in a VoIP environment, including an extensive understanding of how call sessions are negotiated between parties within a VoIP system
  • Real Time Protocols (RTP) used within a VoIP transaction, including the process of converting audio signals for traversal across an Ethernet network
  • Quality control mechanisms for VoIP exchanges on a network, including the use of Class of Service (CoS) and Quality of Service (QoS) to manage packet delivery
  • Troubleshooting techniques for resolving communication issues between VoIP devices on a network, including the use of packet monitoring software such as Wireshark to identify problems
  • Proficiency using Biamp software platforms to configure Biamp VoIP endpoints

Time to Complete (approx.): 3-4 hours

Course Details:
This course has been designed for those who find themselves in the position of providing maintenance for and making minor modifications to existing Biamp AudiaFLEX and Nexia platform audio systems.

The training focuses on systems that are already installed — rather than working on a new installation. The tasks that have proven most difficult for technicians over the years will be discussed.

After completing the training, attendees will have a better understanding of the following:

  • The bulk of the hardware in the AudiaFLEX and Nexia families
  • How to navigate the configuration software and how it relates to the hardware in the system
  • All the layers of connectivity involved in communicating with the hardware
  • Peripheral devices such as audio expanders and controllers and their impacts on the overall AV system
  • How both multiple Audia and multiple Nexia systems transmit sound between each other

AV Lab

We developed the AV Lab to allow the AV industry’s best and brightest to hone and practice their skills. Instruction takes place in a hands-on laboratory environment at Biamp headquarters, taking a deep-dive into advanced Tesira design, networking, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Our goal with the AV lab is to mimic a real-world scenario of commissioning a system in which all layers and aspects of the system from networking, audio, video, and control are presented to you at the same time. However, instead of worrying about customer or company deadlines, you can take your time and receive help from Biamp’s Application Engineering team to troubleshoot and understand what is happening in your system.

Networked A/V solutions are all around us, but the way media traverses a network as ethernet traffic can be mysterious at best. With straightforward examples and plain language, this course session aims to unravel the mystery, explaining design validation tools in the Network, Signal Processing, and Application domains. Delivered in-person at your location or online (instructor-led), A/V Networking – Design is for anyone in the field of pro A/V who wants to be more informed about putting media on a network.

AUDIENCE
Those tasked with providing onsite support of audio/visual facilities but do not have a traditional A/V background. For example: IT managers or network systems professionals, in large/enterprise organizations, whose departments maintain their conference rooms and other AV enabled spaces where Biamp Tesira is installed.

COURSE GOAL
This course is delivered at the trainee’s location, which facilitates an understanding of their own unique Biamp installation and will help them become self-sufficient in supporting it. By learning about Tesira in the context of their own A/V system, the trainee can take ownership of the knowledge gained and put it to use effectively and immediately.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course covers the process of optimizing the Parlé family of Beamtracking microphones. From determining the appropriate Parlé model by taking physical and acoustical measurements, to seeing what’s under the hood of the customizable Parlé block in Tesira software, this course eliminates guesswork in all phases of a project. Parlé Microphone Optimization focuses on streamlining the design phase and reducing the time needed for commissioning while maximizing system performance.

PREREQUISITES: There are no prerequisites for this course but some experience with Tesira Software will help you get the most out of this session. Completion of the TesiraFORTÉ online course is strongly recommended.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: 1.25 AVIXA RUs for CTS/CTS-D/CTS-I.

PREREQUISITES: No formal prerequisites, however, each participant should bring a computer with the latest version of Tesira Software installed.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: 4 AVIXA CTS/D/I RUs and TesiraFORTÉ certification upon successful completion of the assessment.

TIME TO COMPLETE: One full day (instructor-led).
