Providing professional AV integrators with the ability to create easy-to-use interfaces for even the most complex audio networks, Biamp® Systems today introduced version 1.2 of its proprietary daVinci™ control system software at InfoComm 06. daVinci 1.2 allows integrators to design powerful, graphic based control interfaces for PCs or third party remote controllers, giving end-users the freedom to manipulate various audio network functions via any of Biamp's audio processing components, including the new Nexia VC and Nexia TC Digital Signal Processors.
Version 1.2 of the popular daVinci software features a number of new capabilities that make the software more efficient and even easier to operate for end-users of varying technical backgrounds. New to daVinci 1.2 is the Auto-Connect function which automatically locates a Biamp component and its network settings, and then quickly loads component presets and control functions on to a GUI-based, full-creen layout. The functionality that this new Auto-Connect feature affords greatly simplifies and streamlines the end-users job of loading and accessing control screens.
"Biamp Systems' DSP and network components enable contractors and consultants to engineer state-of-the-art audio networks, but to truly capitalize on the advanced features and benefits of these technologies it has been critical that we also provide an intuitive and powerful interface with a low learning curve that the end-user community can immediately relate to and begin working with," said Matt Czyzewski, VP of Technical Operations, Biamp. "The introduction of daVinci 1.2 addresses this need and comprehensively ensures that our customers can continue to create highly intuitive control interfaces even when designing networks with our new Audia 4.0 design software or new components like our Nexia VC and Nexia TC DSPs."
daVinci 1.2 has also been redesigned to support Biamp's TI-2 telephone interface. This gives integrators the ability to create customized control screens for any size teleconferencing application when installing either an AudiaFLEX or Nexia TC component; dialer controls that support bitmaps and a wide range of colors when creating unique dialer buttons; and an optional speed dial pad for added convenience.
Among other enhancements that have been made for daVinci 1.2, integrators will find added options for usability and configurability that will greatly improve the level of control they are able to provide to their customers. These include: a 'full window mode' function that allows users to minimize a full-screen interface if another program needs to be accessed; added support for linking LED controls to Router cross-points; new auto-font scaling capabilities for all controls; new editing and diabling label fields on particular controls; and separate on/off text labels for button controls that toggle certain network functions.
daVinci 1.2 is currently available. For more information on upgrading to daVinci 1.2, Biamp customers can visit booth 2369 during InfoComm or Biamp.com .
