Leading German integration firm Franken Lehrmittel of Nuremberg has just completed the successful installation of Biamp's® newly developed Networked Paging System — the first single-cable network paging solution designed for today's modern facilities — at the headquarters of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space company (EADS) in Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands. The project, completed with the support of distributor Beyerdynamic Germany, demonstrates how Biamp's comprehensive range of professional-grade audio processing and network technologies are enabling systems integrators to broaden their business offerings and provide their clients with better-integrated systems and more comprehensive services.
The decision to add the new Networked Paging System was part of a corporate-wide renovation of the entire paging and EVAC systems that will interconnect across 35 buildings via fiber optic cable and unite the paging, fire alarm and EVAC systems into a single entity. It is a year-long project started in 2007 that will be completed this year. Biamp's Networked Paging System, comprised of multiple AudiaFLEX units, Networked Paging Stations and AudiaEXPI and AudiaEXPO digital I/O expanders networked over CobraNet®, will serve as the core of this technology update.

The Audia Digital Audio Platform software includes two programming blocks that make networked paging stations easy to install and synch. One block allows for creation and storage of page zone groups with flexible chimes and levels of priority, while another block allows designers to define the number of page zone groups each station can access. Both of these were critical factors in the application at the EADS facility. The Networked Paging Station-1 features a sleek, sophisticated design and an innovative user-interface., which enables users to quickly switch between pre-assigned paging groups and zones.
