Owens Audio Video Design Taps Biamp®'s Audia™ for Raymond James Stadium

Owens Audio Video Design in Orlando has installed two new Biamp AudiaFLEX systems in Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The implementation creates a robust audio system that provides Raymond James Stadium management with greater control over the main sound system. The new system will also help stadium management better control audio in all areas throughout the stadium including concessions and concourse levels.

"The power of our software and the level of DSP processing power that goes into our Audia® platform makes for a flexible and cost-effective solution in large stadium applications," said Ron Camden, Vice President of Sales, Biamp Systems. "Highly qualified integrators such as Owens Audio Video Design can rely on Audia to perform in a complex systems design."

The two AudiaFLEX systems are networked via CobraNet™ with one system configured for 6 inputs and 18 outputs and the other for 8 inputs and 16 outputs. Because of this level of customization, only one AudiaFLEX system is needed for the main cluster while the other facilitates the concourse system. Each system is setup with additional inputs and outputs so Owens Audio Video Design can provide program backup for redundancy. In this configuration, the stadium has enough processing to provide backup for the entire concourse and the main cluster system in case of an emergency.

"The obvious solution," said Bob Owens of Owens Audio Video Design, "was AudiaFLEX because it provides high quality sound and top of the line dependability at a very competitive price. We selected Audia because it offers a quicker processing speed and a superior A/D conversion. Overall, the Raymond James Stadium system now benefits from the precision and accuracy of the digital technology available in Audia."

Because of Audia's flexible design and its superior performance to date, Raymond James Stadium management is looking at implementing additional Audia processors to increase the number of available control functions. Owens Audio Video Design (www.owensavdesign.com), located in Orlando, has provided professional AV services for more than 28 years.
