BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems CEO, Steve Metzger, has joined the CEO Advisory Council of Greenlight Greater Portland, the metro region's public-private economic development organization, and will be taking an active role on the council throughout 2011. The council works to enhance the economic vitality of the Portland metropolitan region in marketing and business recruitment and retention initiatives.

Metzger joined the Council on the eve of Greenlight's merger to create the Portland metro region's first-ever public-private economic development organization. Greenlight's new governing board includes about 20 CEOs of major private corporations plus five of the region's mayors, including the mayor of Beaverton, and other elected officials from across Portland-Vancouver. This board looks to the Advisory Council for guidance and intelligence as the organization develops and implements a strategy to grow the economic base.
